IN THE IMPERIAL GARDEN

IN THE IMPERIAL GARDEN

The flower bird
The garden rainbow
The most precious treasure
of the emperor’s daughter
had disappeared

The bellies of three suspicious dragons
were emptied
The manager of the garden
was sacrificed
for inept

Some neighboring kingdoms
with dubious reputation
were invaded
But not a clue
of its whereabouts

One day at sunset
The girl called him screaming:
appeared appeared
The emperor compared
her joy with hers
He looked at the little bird
perched on the branch
He watched his daughter laugh again.

And sat down while
and let the breeze
hide his tears
among the dry leaves

He understood that he had crossed
that thin and dangerous veil
that separates love from madness
and there was no way to return
It was already late
soon the heavenly vault
would be covered with stars

Dedicated to those who keep
the chest of his childhood
out of the reach of adults
